When I drew this I drew the Fish & Wildlife guy in a more cop-like uniform, then as I was working on it I decided to look up F&W uniforms. Whoops! Not cop-like at all. D'oh!

The question is what was he doing all the way out there? Methinks he went there as an excuse to get away from those likely to cause him work. Gathering dead animals does not count as fishing or hunting, but scavenging, so legally he should be fine . . . unless they claim he was the one that originally killed it.

Well, if a law had been passed requiring a Fossil Fishing license, F&W agents would probably expand their territory. There are rules about collecting vertebrate fossils on certain lands. Gold hunters do have run-ins with F&W because a lot of gold hunting (and some rockhounding) is done in rivers.
