I had no idea this was happening! Loving this! And I clapped, figuratively, at the "cultural mosaic" line, well known phrase in Canada! Did Canada eventually become Ephemera? I think it did!
@fallopiancrusader: Thanks! I wanted to get this stuff all out of the way so I didn't have to do the classic "one character explaining things to another character that it seems like they would already know" device. :P
@ozone: I think you were the one who pointed me towards reference material for this - thank you again! :)
Yep, it's watercolour! Initially I tried to achieve a similar effect digitally, but after playing around with that for a while without being too happy with the results I realized it would be easier just to do it the old-fashioned way.

Great look. I can almost feel the textured paper in my hands.

Really nice ice job matching art style with marketing lingo while conveying the story set-up. A lot going on here.

I can hear the voiceover in classic pathe news tones! Great period detail and the script feels authentic with just the right tone. Great fun!

Expect the unexpected... but if you're expecting it, it's not really unexpected...

Ha! What a fun and cute way to introduce the conceptual foundations of the world!

Wow! So THAT's where the 1930s brochers came in handy! Awesome to finally see it come to fruition. Very clever device. Is that real watercolour?
