We had kind of a delay this week, but we're cool. We did a little reshuffling of the pages to give you guys something to read.
Today's page is by Al. With the Armory reclaimed for the side of good, ANT attempts to engage the security system. Unfortunately, our heroes are instantly recognized as intruders and are sent to a parallel dimension.
We're pulling a “Weird Al” today by doing a style parody of Rich Burlow's Order of the Stick. No actual cameos today, boys and girls. Just parody.
Tune in again in the next day or so for another wild and wacky adventure of The Crossoverlord!
In other news, Lewis Lovhaug, otherwise known as Linkara of Atop The Fourth Wall has been a busy guy and has made special appearances on a couple different comics podcast. Last week, he appeared on the Yamagato Industries Business Report on Yamagato Team-Up #2, and this past Sunday, he appeared on The Webcomic Beacon, episode 112. Both appearances are entertaining, so I encourage you to check them out!
Heh - it seems that Bluey used a rejected team name here ^^
I like OOTS too. One of the best OOTS-inspired webcomics is Anti-Heroes: http://antiheroescomic.com/comic
A little bit of explanation here...
This started because I had to exorcise an image. I imagined our group drawn in OOTS-style, and HAD to do it.
Nevertheless, I've been trying to get in touch with Rich Burlew (creator of OOTS) for months, without success. I wanted to have his blessing, maybe cameo the OOTS gang at the end, looking at our group leaving, and saying, "What a bunch of WEIRDOS!" You can see my attempts in the OOTS forum here.
Now, I understand Rich is a busy guy and probably gets tons of email and requests. But at the end I decided---though I definitely didn't want to use any copyrighted characters without permission...I could do it in his STYLE without ticking anybody off. (I hope.) Look as this as more of a tribute than a parody...
Especially since there have been other comics done in the same OOTS style.
So, although I can't really outright say they're in the same world as OOTS (which I admire greatly), a small hint MIGHT be given by having the Keepers mention a skull-headed lich-king spellcaster who had a name similar to "Xylophone"...
