Theo Holloway departs the earliest morning train at the shy depot of the understated town of Imago, Nebraska. Holloway is an unassuming solo-traveling craftsman with an antique luggage bag that looks as old as time. One of the few items in Theo’s possession is Fyodor Dostoevsky’s novel, The Idiot, and similar to Prince Myshkin, Theo’s journey started aboard a train. Rose Vargas, a known kleptomaniac, has been rooted in Imago, Nebraska, and has worked her way up from the Grand Rock Motel to a waitress and spends her days chatting with the regular townsfolk. Rose and Theo’s life paths are about to intersect over a two-dollar and fifteen cent cup of coffee at the local diner stirring up more questions than answers about their initial meeting.
The art style in Imago, Nebraska, uses a dreamlike filter that softens the edges of the harshness of reality. The story dives into visually and conversationally mature themes and is intended for an older audience (16+).
