So as August is coming to a close soon, I'm posting this reminder for everyone who wants to, to start on their submissions for the Red Carpet! Each year, the Red Carpet even that opens the yearly celebration of our webcomics that is the DD Awards, becomes even more fun, even more splendid.

This year there is not only the awesome collaboration between Genejoke and me for Duck and Quail's shenaningas. There's also the amazing contributions of UnderTheBlackHat and Locoma who are providing the Red Carpet with custom made backgrounds for the arrivals, the casual group shot and the formal group shot!

I can't wait for you to see them, they're amazing!

And I'd love for you to partake, with your webcomic's characters if you haven't already. So all the instructions are in my May post about it all, but here they are again for convenience:



Submissions for the Red Carpet open on May 15 and close on September 15!

To participate in the Red Carpet event you must have a webcomic hosted on DD and submit up to TWO characters, in TWO VERSIONS, both facing forward (as if posing for a photo, or trying to) at eye-level:

1st set should be your characters as they appear in the comic, in their usual outfits/hairdos/etc.

2nd set should be your SAME characters dressed up in formal clothes as they would if they were actors going to the Oscars.

Both sets should be on TRANSPARENT background. Post the 1st set on this thread.

KEEP THE SECOND SET SECRET and send it to me at this email with the subject line RED CARPET 2024: tantz.aerine AT gmail.com

From your images I will compose two wallpapers commemorating the 2024 DD Awards. The second set will also be presented in a special sequence when the Red Carpet event begins running!

You officially have until September 15 and unofficially until I begin to compose the group shots which is roughly a month from now (hence my heads up/reminder today).
