somehow I feel like I might get some disturbing replies… but just curious, what's your strangest habit?
Mine may be that I try really hard to get items from vending machines that form little puns… like B9 (benign!) C6 (seasick!) B4(before!) etc… ~_~ in fact, today I got a bag of pretzels rather than animal crackers, solely based on the fact that it was at B9 … :D

Oh boy…
hmmm other than my extreme fear of ketchup, I'd say eating sour stuff. And I don't just mean candy. I like to eat lemons, and bags of unsweetened kool-aid too.

I CAN outweird you all…. seriously. But I'm just not going to post all of that. If I did I would hate myself even more :O
A strange habbit of mine is maybe that I like groups of people most of my friends and classmates make fun of…. I can't really help it. I just like goths, emos, hippies and alternates. I don't really have friends in any of those catogories and I'm not like any of them. But I just have an incredibly amount of respect for all of those groups.
And somehow I love Belgium girls :/ Probably because of their fantastic accent!
(by the way: I believe there was a topic like this in the past. I can remember mentioning my habbit of recording the sound of a whole full lenght movie on tape so I could just listen to it and imagine the pictures with it)

Funny, in never considered that eating sour stuff was odd. I grew up eating lemons, and buying packets of kool-aid and eating it straight from the envelope. I also used to eat slices of raw Bermuda Onion smeared with Miracle Whip, and I knew that that was weird….

Doesn't everybody do that?
My odd habits are many and varied, but spontaneous dancing (in private) and talking to myself (mostly in private) are the two that jump to mind.

Whenever I'm stepping on tiles or bricks, I pay attention to the “diagonals” between corners, or other patterns depending on the tiles design(not actually physically there) and either avoid them or step on them in patterns. Whenever I'm on the phone in my kitchen, I follow specific walking patterns while I pace.
On a related note, I spend most of my time while walking looking at the ground; in fact, this habit often makes its way into first person video games I play.
Whenever I eat anything salty, I have to balance it with something sweet, and vice versa. Often, I have to transition to smaller and smaller bits of each as I get towards the end of a meal, and unless I'm in a specific mood I usually end up dissatisfied with whatever taste I end up eating last. For instance, right now I'm eating deli cheese and meat rolls with a glass of chocolate milk. I also love eating chips and chocolate together (often in the same bite, but don't tell anyone :p)
I'm also really anal about rationing my drink to be finished at the exact time my food is done, because I hate having to drink a lot after i'm done with food, or finish eating without anything to drink.

I do the same exact thing.
It freaks people out in the hallways because I wind up prancing up to three tiles aparts
My strangest habit though is if I have to get somewhere to the side I don't turn and walk like a normal person, I do a hammer slide to wherever I'm going, likewise with backwards I moonwalk.

Oh, and whenever I do a math problem (Quadratic, graphing, etc.) I always picture it as a fight between good and evil >_> The positives of course being the good guys and the negatives being the bad, so I wind up going through long, painstaking processes to ensure that the positives win.

I like to have equalness. I will not tolerate music only on one ear for example (like if a headphone is broken).
Sometimes I seperate how I chew my food. I'll only chew with one side for one bite, the next bit I chew with the other side.

Odd habits I used to have:
Pulling my pants up over my belly button.
Holding my arms in something akin to a kangaroo.
Talking to myself, out loud, around people. Now I just do that when I'm alone.
Now I only have:
I make symmetrical patterns whenever I scratch an itch. Like, if I scratch my left ear, then I need to scratch my right. Then right, left, left, right, left, right, right, left, left, right, or something like that.
I chew my nails as far as they go, and then chew the surrounding skin.
I look at the ground a lot.
I shower if my hair needs a wash, but not if my body needs cleaning.
Almost forgot, I feel the need to always have an online journal.

…that ear-wax smelling thing was kinda weird.
when I want somebody to come towards me, I'll make a motion with my hands like I'm pawing at the ground except…towards the person. I don't even realize I'm doing it most of the time until somebody starts laughing.

I can't walk past a gumball-style vending machine, the kind they have in supermarkets full of small toys, without getting something. Then I throw the toys in a box at home and say that someday I will do something epic with them. Also I have an intense fear of children's entartainers and men in masks, including Micky Mouse and all college mascots. I also can't sleep in silence and can't read more than a paragraph or two at a time without getting distracted. And I read magazines backwards.

I sometimes smell stuff when I first encounter it. I also smell my ‘stache a lot, especially when I notice an unusual smell on it.
Also, sometimes I’ll be listening to a song that will remind me of a different song, then I start singing the song in my head while another plays on the stereo.

oh man i've got a bunch of them… i'll prolly come back to this thread
one of my wierdest habits is the fact that when i'm making nachos or spaghetti or pasta or anything like that, i fill up my little ikea grated cheese container with cheese (this thing is like 3 inches high and 6-8 inches wide)
well i fill it up, then sprinkle some cheese on the dish… then a little more… little more…
by the time i finish ive got about a half-pound load of grated cheese or more on a between meal snack, and completely emptied this cheese container… mmm's good!
but i cant eat ANYTHING without cheese on it, if i ever make a egg and bacon muffin it has cheese on it… i also very often eat a block of cheese with a strawberry milkshake.
i like cheese…

I'm glad I read this thread, because I used to think I was a weirdo. I'm guilty of several of these… The walking on bricks thing for instance. I find myself walking in chess knight patterns. And stepping on dry leaves. Also, not facing the wall while I sleep. But I think that's a common natural instinct or something.
