Honestly I love it. There's way too many out there that I like and represent me well enough. Sometimes I might use one avatar longer than others, and I do have one that I plan on being my permanent… eventually.

But I don't see anything wrong with it, and especially don't see anything to get angry about. If it's about people remembering you… the name should work well enough. :) And also, I change my sig less often than my avatars, so that should help out.

I do it to break the monotony, anyway, people would still know me if I had an avatar of ANY kind. I'm just recognizable.

But in all honesty, what the hell is you're issue? I mean srsly, its just a 100x100 pic that the user thinks represents them. I actually prefer people to change them regularly. It helps flesh out that person, you get to see their interests and personality just by a little picture.
