Ch. 3 - Pg. 15

A lot of th' lighter marks got bleached out on this'n. Scanner gripes continue. But a poorly scanned comic is better'n no comic, right?
Here I break the “action scene” rule o' drawin' the moment before or after the impact, but not the impact itself. Ah well. This entire sequence hinged on me bein' able to pull off that last panel, and I think I got as close as my non-action drawin' skills could manage. Y'all be the judge o' that, though.

Wait, that's a rule? Now I'm gonna HAVE to break it. Repeatedly.

Spectacular final panel there, frankly I felt like cheering Vic for finally stepping in!

Pop goes the weasel.

Ever surf past something about a dozen times, and then finally click on it and discover that you really like what's been in front of you the whole time? Yeah, I should've clicked long ago.... FAVED! :D Amazing page
Palomides at 12:46PM, Oct. 16, 2009
eh, the 'action rule' always makes thing seem a little cheesy, this focuses more on the specific moment of impact
harkovast at 6:30AM, Oct. 16, 2009
Hit him a few more times to be sure!

Should have used the edge of the shovel...
tommym at 4:20PM, Oct. 13, 2009
Dear Hyena, Why do you doubt yourself? You did a super fantistic page! Vic finally stopped talking and got down to some really needed action. Hope Calamity is OK Tommy
Stevarooni at 3:07PM, Oct. 13, 2009
Yeahhhhhhhhhh! Good job of distracting him with your soft'n'crunchy body parts. XD
pinkbatmax at 12:39PM, Oct. 13, 2009
EEK!
theorah at 11:05AM, Oct. 13, 2009
oooh! >_o I think it works very well, especially being closed up in the last panel, gives it loooads of impact with such a unsuspecting build up! ouch!
Orin J Master at 10:23AM, Oct. 13, 2009
his position is wrong. from the stance in the fifth panel, his back should be facing forward in the sixth. of course, that would leave his back facing forward which doesn't make for a good panel.... ah well.
amanda at 7:23AM, Oct. 13, 2009
He's doing something useful! *keels over*
freefall_drift at 7:07AM, Oct. 13, 2009
Great, he's back! Nicely done. I like the flourish at the beginning of the shovel arc. Nice touch. Reminds me of Bruce Willis in Pulp Fiction. "Got nothing to lose, might as well do it with style. " Since you are asking for comments, The only thing I would have done differently is flipped the last two panels so the hit was splattering out of the frame to the right. Your eye reads left to right, make the hit motion, left to right. Smart ass dialogue is as fun as ever.
Karm2865 at 6:04AM, Oct. 13, 2009
is it just me or did he switch hand positions on the shovel?
MiekkaQ at 4:26AM, Oct. 13, 2009
at the moment i saw last panel.. i thought words" shovel shot "

I would imagine this guy would be so disoriented after being hit over the head with a shovel, that he wont be able to get himself some organs tonight xD.
Ice_Talon at 2:41AM, Oct. 13, 2009
Works well to my eye!

'Rule'? There no rules. Only guidelines.
