The CEO is recording a podcast with Wally. Both are smoking weed.
CEO: … It makes no sense at all! Why would you even do a Fred Astaire riff if you’re not going to hire leads who can dance!?
Wally: Oh, I know.

CEO: Gosling wanted to do another take of the “Lovely Night” scene because he knew he biffed it, but Chezelle wanted to leave it in! Auteur my ass! And it undermines the message, too!

CEO: We’re supposed to sympathize with these dreamers whose talent is being overlooked. But do they go out and find obscure dreamers with the talent to make the movie work? No!
Wally: Huh.

CEO: They pay lip service to scrappy no-name talent, but they don’t trust it. They’d rather have names on the poster than talent. Pedigree.
Wally: Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone are good actors.

CEO: Actors, sure. But there are genuine nobodies out there who can really dance, and really sing, and blow you away, and you’ll never know their names. I blame Pixar, by the way.
Wally: Pixar?! Why?

CEO: For the hostile A-list takeover of voice acting. Once that domino fell, singing and dancing were inevitable. Really, you can even go back to Disney’s Aladdin…
Wally: Go on…
