-Breathtaking original art by El Cid

While the end of this season of television ending this month, many shows will begin Summer programming this week. The beauty of Summer (or Winter) is that less time can be spent indoors and the movie theatres will be a refuge to cool off. I recall one barely liveable, hot Chicago Summer when my neighborhood had a blackout and going to the movies was one place I knew I could fall asleep.

So which movies are your inner fanboy or fangirl on the edge of your seat to see in the next couple of months? The Avengers: Age of Ultron and Mad Max: Fury Road are already in theatres. Inside Out, Tomorrowland and Minions are there for the kiddos. Terminator: Genisys and Jurassic World will be out for anyone who loves a good reboot from the nineteen-nineties. The Fantastic Four, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2, and Star Wars Episode VII be out later in the year from August to December. I think it is safe to say that there is a lot of good movies to look forward to in 2015.

For me, the film I am most excited for is Jurassic World. I have always been a little apprehensive of a revisit to the Jurassic franchise after Lost World and Jurassic Park III, but I actually felt chills after watching the latest trailer for Jurassic World. I believe Chris Pratt said it best when he said, “Jurassic Park was really kind of my Star Wars…for me that was my big movie, I think I was 13 or 14 when it came out. And so it's a big deal for me to be any part of that, let alone this part I'm going to be playing. I'm thrilled about it.” This newest film is made for anyone who was a kid in the early nineties starring an actor who was also a kid in the early nineties making it very special.

When I was a kid, I was afraid of It the Clown, dolls like Chuckie, and VELOCIRAPTORS. In fact, Raptors may be the reason my house does not have any doors with lever-style door handles.

Always had a fear of dinosaurs too and that was long before Jurassic Park. Then there's Pleistocene mega fauna. Humans existed with them (unlike dinosaurs) How the heck did our species survive when even beavers were the size of grizzly bears?

Mad Max: Fury Road looks good, the SFX in Jurassic World looks good, but the "dinosaur whisperer" aspect of the trailers seems really, really dumb.

Thanks! :-) The Duck used to show the comic numbers when I went to upload pages, so it was more obvious when I was coming up on a milestone. These days I have to check the dropdown to see what number I'm at, so it's easier to overlook.
