The Cull - Chapter 2 - Page 22

As promised on the last update, this is the point this comic really (and happily) dives into the ‘adults only’ territory.
Saphyr has some pent up aggravation she needs to get rid of (and who can blame her), so these lowlanders were in the wrong place at the wrong time. Sure, they would ultimately have been executed anyway (filthy heathens and all), but there are better ways to go than bleeding out after having your shin snapped in half and part of your leg torn off. At least I suspect there are…though with the huntresses, you never know.
This page was a blast to draw and I like he way it came out. I'm especially pleased with the way the framing of Saphyr's face by the arc of blood was as I had originally imagined it. There are a couple of bits that could have been pulled off better (I'll leave you to judge), but I'm looking forward to more action like this (and the next pages won't disappoint in that regard I hope!)
Thanks again for the kind comments!

I am really, really impressed by how well you draw anatomy. I don't know a lot of people that can pull it off this well

Great action shots! The choreography on this page reminds me of a John Woo film.

@Kim: Glad you enjoyed the page. She does have a kind of 'super-strength' - like all Huntresses - that gives her the ability (with a bit of leverage) to do this (and more stuff that will happen on the next few pages ;)). The reason for this will be revealed...but not for a while yet!

@Jeff: Thanks! Really impressed with your drawings - gorgeous stuff! Seems like we have a similar aesthetic. I need to try the technique you use, the results look fantastic.
