Uses For AI

Creative AI is a crime against humanity. It serves no useful purpose for the human race as humans are naturally creative. The only reason for this would seem to be using programming to shut up, or drown out, human beings the programmers, or their financial backers, disagree with. A creative computer program is a lot easier to deal with than a human activist who might want money or food for their efforts.

It is called "Artificial Intelligence" for a reason; it is not actually intelligent. It just fakes it. Still, I admit it does a better job than many people these days. When it comes to using AI to write stories, do we really need to make them plan how to kill people?

You shouldn't blame programmers for that, blame their managers (and financial backers). Besides, you really think someone already made creative AI? Hah. None of current AI are actually creative, they just pretend that just like student who copied their thesis pretends they wrote it. If you give thousand images to human, they will learn to draw as well as the best of those images, maybe even better. If you give ten thousand images to AI, it will learn to draw about as the average of those images, maybe even worse. Of course, the human will spent years with that learning. Of course, plenty of people don't need creative images. They don't even need people on that image having right number of fingers.

You mean, it wasn't trying to draw a human as abstract art? It actually think humans look like that? You know how it goes: Garbage in, garbage out. And: A program is only as smart as it's dumbest programmer's dumbest moment.

I am not a fan of A.I.. At least as it is now. I'm willing to change my opinion if it changes for the better. No signs of that on the horizon.
